It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tammy Ann (Moreland) Hubert, at the young age of 60, on January 11, 2025, who was surrounded by family at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. Tammy was born on August 18, 1964, at Zingker Hospital in Dearborn, Michigan, to Irene (nèe Shouch) and Richard Moreland.
Tammy is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Hubert; her mother and father, Irene and Richard Moreland; her brothers Patrick Moreland, Ronald Moreland, and Vincent Moreland. She is survived by her children, Jonathan Moreland, Felicia (Fernando) Ayala-Moreland, and Ashley (Ronald Jr.) Hubert; partner Jose Andino; siblings Kenny Moreland, Sammy (Mary) Moreland; and grandchildren, Kiana, Maison, Elijah, and Nando.
Tammy lived her entire life in
Southwest Detroit. As a young child, Tammy served as an altar girl at St.Hedwig Church. She also attended St. Hedwig grade school through high school.
Tammy grew up with six brothers. She was hardworking. Tammy's first job was at the local Dairy Queen. She then learned skills in the mini trades and worked in carpentry and professional painting. She also worked for Jennie Maids and cleaned the homes of professional hockey and baseball players.
Tammy loved music, playing pool (she was pretty good at it too), playing the poker machine, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren.
If her family wanted or needed something, Tammy helped make sure they got it. Tammy was well known around her neighborhood and looked out for people she loved and knew, including the vulnerable and unhoused.
